Over this past year I have enrolled onto and started learning, for the first time, the art of make up and hair design. This was a big step for me to take when deciding what I wanted to study at university as throughout my whole life I have been surrounded by people, including family and friends, who have gone on to higher education studying core subjects that are more highly recognised, and unfortunately more highly regarded. Although I encountered some negative responses to my choice of taking make up and hair design more seriously and wanting it as a future career, I am glad I did as I know that this past year of work, although challenging and stressful, is the only course, university and degree which is right for me and follows my passion.
In this blog I will be looking at and reflecting upon my first year of studying and discussing the high and low points for me, how my attitudes changed throughout the year as well as what I would like to gain and achieve in my next year of study.
